David Bennett currently works as the Green Team Strategy Lead at Google within the Real Estate & Workplace Services organization. In his role, David leads the development of strategies to deliver sustainability services throughout Google’s global portfolio of offices. David received his MBA from Presidio in December 2010 and as a student, focused on developing corporate sustainability strategies that capture economic and environmental value for large organizations and leading brands. Further, David worked on projects with Nestle Purina, Environmental Defense Fund’s Corporate Partnerships Program and Hara Software.
What brought David to Presidio was his interest in exploring the opportunities for leveraging the private sector as a platform for affecting social and environmental change. As a strong advocate for the role that businesses can play in creating a clean energy economy, David credits Presidio with shaping his views on the vast opportunities for corporations to more effectively manage natural capital.
Prior to coming to Presidio, David led the development of endangered species recovery and habitat protection programs for NOAA and ran the B2C and B2B online marketing program for a technology company founded by publisher Tim O’Reilly. David also held positions focused on environmental sustainability with the Smithsonian Institute, USDA and the USGS.
David holds an MA in International Development & Social Change from Clark University and remains closely connected to the Presidio community through serving as a Graduate Teaching Assistant for the school’s Principles of Sustainable Management course.
